Sport Management

The Exercise & Sport Studies Minor has been offered since 1995 and is the first and only exercise and sport related minor in the University of California system.

The Minor features four individual program tracks each consisting of a varying amount of upper-division coursework. The program prepares students for advanced studies in related disciplines as well as career opportunities in the expanding fields of athletic coaching, exercise and health science, fitness instruction and sport management.

Completing a minor offers students a cohesive supplement to their major, reflecting well rounded interests and course of study. In addition, minors often help students to structure their choice of elective units as they fulfill the College of Letters & Science degree requirements. Upon completion of the degree and meeting of all conditions, the minor will be listed on the diploma and posted on the official transcript.

Procedures for Completing the Minor(s)

All students MUST see their respective advisor BEFORE graduating in order to have completion of their Minor recognized by the University. Upon completing all required classes in their Minor, students MUST bring a transcript (unofficial acceptable) to their advisor and together complete the necessary paperwork for official Minor recognition. All questions and/or concerns should be directed to your Minor advisor.
